Given the rise of
dining the dark and
dining in the sky, I can’t say I was all that surprised to come across this: dining in the buff. I figured it had to happen sooner or later.
Some 50 members regularly turn up for monthly meals held in various New York (where else?) restaurants to dine completely naked. They even have a motto: No hot soup (ha)! Mind you I can think of a few other items to ban: Hot cross buns anyone?
Having watched the
video report on Clothing Optional Dinner(WARNING: there are lots of naked bits on display - don’t say I didn’t warn you), the nude diners do seem to be enjoying themselves and their meal.
According to the report, nude dining is apparently growing in popularity.
I personally can’t see the appeal of undressing for dinner. I’m not being a prude but it just sounds a bit distracting, not to mention unhygienic, even if everyone brings their own towel to sit on. Call me boring but I generally like to focus on the food when I’m dining out.
What are your thoughts on dining in the buff? Would you ever consider it?
