Laura Calder was born and brought up in Eastern Canada. Her career began in journalism and public relations, but soon shifted towards food. She has studied cooking Canada and France, and undertaken oenological studies in France and California. Her food writing has appeared in many publications including: Vogue Entertaining and Travel, Gourmet magazine, Gastronomica, Salon.com, the Times of London, the Los Angeles Times, the Wine Journal, and Flare magazine.
